Comments: EVBB provides such a wonderful service, with dedicated staff and volunteers. I wish that all canine lovers were aware of the need. My lab mix, Larry, is so attached to Dr. Ann that we consider her an extended member of the family.

Comments: I first learned of EVBB at a Pet Expo at Dulles Expo Center in VA years ago. I have participated ever since, with EVBB making frequent trips to the Northern VA area to secure the donations. My greyhounds have greyt blood, as they can go to any typed dog, I believe. Chessie, who passed away recently, was a donor 'til age 8 1/2. I currently take Camden (age 7) and Chrissy (age 4). Camden has donated since age 9 months! Wow, that's a lot of blood, and he is always SO happy when we pull into the parking lot "to be a hero"; you can hear him "roo" before he comes through the door. They love the vet and tech, as well as the peanut butter and cheese whiz! Camden likes to make everyone laugh at the way he drinks water LOL Please, Please, Please consider this if your dog meets the requirements. It's funny - I think the dogs are very cognizant that they are doing something very special during that hour for one of their own. Patti Bruch, Camden and Chrissy.

Comments: I am sorry to learn that the economy is having an adverse impact on EVBB. My golden retriever grand-dogs were donors and I actively promoted EVBB in the local community for years. Since moving to Colorado in 2008, I have continued to educate people about the value of this service and, as an Aurora Pet Examiner, I recently wrote an article about EVBB and HemoSolutions that is posted on the Internet. I have met countless dog owners in Colorado who are not aware of canine blood banking despite having spent many years in Anne Arundle County, Maryland. I will become more aggressive with my educational campaign as our canine companions need this life-saving service.

Comments: EVBB is a wonderful program. My dogs have both been donors for a few years and I also bring in my friend's dog as well. All three of the dogs love the Vet and Tech there. They are super gentle and very friendly. It makes me proud that my dogs can help other dogs very much in need. I would suggest to anyone that you find a donation site near you and join us in helping those in need. Thank you EVBB for providing this service!

Comments: (This was posted on 3/26/09.) I love the blood bank.It is wonderful. Our great Pyrenees BooBear donated and loved it. He passed April 2002 the day before his birthday and him donating for the last round. Then my daughter got her Leonberger Dakota and as soon as she was old enough she started donating. Our dogs have loved it. BooBear got so excited every time he gave blood. They both loved everyone there.
Sadly Dakota has cancer in her leg and has just had 2 surgeries and skin graft in the last month, and the graft has partially died and she will have another surgery but they are trying to save the other 1/2 of the graft. We will miss you all.My daughter Jackie is a Vet. tech and sees the importance of donating. She has gotten a few others to join EVBB and tells lots of people about donating. Please if you read this, donating is of benefit to everyone the dogs and people who's family members are saved and the donor themselves. You get tests that would never be done until they were sick so you can catch things early plus regular vet checks plus the dogs love it and the cookies and the attention and on and on. Thank you EVBB for your love of animals especially your treatment of ourBooBear and Dakota.

Comments: (This was posted on 6/19/2009.) I think this is a great way to help others. The people that come to Mt Carmel Animal Hospital are the best. Jasmine loves to go see her "firends"( both animal and human). I'm glad that I found out about this service. And the best thing was when Jasmine received a letter from someone she helped with her first donation. Keep up the great work. I hope more people and their pets sign up.

Comments: (This was posted on 7/23/2009.) July 22, 2009 was the first time Annie Rose (siberian husky) donated blood. She was scared and crying. Both the doctor and technician was so kind and gentle. I gave Annie Rose peanut butter, which seemed to occupy her and was successfully able to donate blood. This is such a wonderful service and was happy that Dale City Animal Hospital had a sign-up sheet for this great service.
